Who Am I?

People are awesome, complex beings, so to simplify things, I'll just tell you a few things that I am in love with and things that I love to do.

I love philosophy, psychology, physics, photography, personalities, possibilities, problems, and potential.

I love running, hiking, biking, and things that push me to my limits.

I love thinking deeply and appreciating others.

I love finding the answers to questions, but even more so I love to ask questions.

I am many things.

For you, I am what you see.

A lot of people like to call themselves by what they do, for me that would be a:

Learner, Photographer, Runner, Hiker, Thinker, Gamer, Lover, Reader, Thriver, Hoper, & Believer.

But I like to think much more in depth. I am an introvert that happens to be highly passionate about people -individuals.

Where Do I Live?

Most usually, I live in the prefrontal cortex of what other intelligences call "Duke Anderson." Occasionally I'll take a hop back into his amygdala when I need to remember something or made a difficult decision.

I live in the sunny state of Arizona, just on the edge of Chandler. I love the weather here, particularly the summers because the sun comes up early and retires late (the state of Arizona does not follow DST). I've lived my whole life in Arizona and I love it. Arizona also has the benefit of being one of the 50 states in the United States of America, so I live there too. It so happens that the country I live in is on planet earth -the only known planet in the universe that contains life.

I am so happy to be a world citizen. I am a huge supporter of knowing individuals, not just groups. Where I live reflects that.

Where Am I Going?

Answering this question has always been an adventure. What do I want to do with my life after Williamsburg? Since I am so deeply passionate about learning, school has always been my life. But I also love sharing things with others. If I can make one person's life just a little bit better by helping them, then I have accomplished something very special to me.

For that reason, and many others, I will be leaving to serve a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints soon after I graduate. Sharing what I believe in is something I love to do and I am so excited to go. After that, I have my life ahead of me. I really don't know if I want to be an entrepreneur and write and direct my own plays (I've done that once before), go into the acting or film industry, or work as a psychologist. Maybe I'll do a bit of everything.

I definitely plan on going to college after my mission, and it will likely be to BYU-Idaho. So, I better get used to the cold! (I really, really dislike cold).

And yes, I am very serious about my adventures.

What Have I Learned?

I have learned so many amazing and wonderful things over the last few years that I am convinced that I will never be able to share it all. I am constantly learning. The very best thing I have learned from my stay here at Williamsburg is How To Think not What To Think. I love that. â€‹

Perhaps I'll share just a few of the things I deeply believe in which happen to overlap with what I have learned here at Williamsburg.

There is Always a Third Choice

You Get Out What You Put In

Knowing What's Wrong Solves Half the Problem

Everyone Has a Story

Man is His Own Worst Enemy

From Williamsburg Academy I have gained a new perspective on life. I've learned what it means to learn, think, apply, and inspire. This school has fanned the flames of my passion for learning and for life. Williamsburg has taught me that I always want to be better, no matter where I am currently at in my studies of people, math, biology, geometry, or anything. â€‹

What Else Is There?

This is the point when I want to go include every awesome quote that I've found that has to do with living life, because life is amazing. And even that is an understatement. Mainly, if you've read this far I'd like to refer you to my photography blog that I've kept since taking Photography in the Fall of 2015 at Williamsburg. That class has been a life changer for me. I love how photography isn't so much an art of what you can create with your hands, but it is an art of what you see with your eyes. It is an art that is truly reflective of the mind. So without further words, here is my parting quote and my blog.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. As a photographer, I am inclined to believe that. Rather than show you so many pictures of me, I'd rather show you pictures of what I see.
