WHERE I AM FROM

I was born April 7, 1998 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've since lived in El Segundo, California, the Arizona East Valley, and an RV traveling the United States.

The corner of the world from which I have attended Williamsburg is the hot, sunny, and lively little city of Gilbert, Arizona.

I am the eldest child in a dynamic family of 7-10 beautiful humans.

My family includes a philosophical doctor, a superwoman chef, myself, a composer/pianist/singer/photographer, a theatrical and mathematical prodigy, a creative artistic genius, a human ray of sunshine, 1-2 magical foster babies at any given time, a baby on the way, and a scruffy dog called Tinkenberry.

MY BURGER STORY

I came from an educational background of public, charter, private, and home schooling in addition to college before Williamsburg Academy. Upon leaving the charter school I had attended for five years and in my subsequent search for the best high school education I could get, my family and I happened upon this school. I took a chance and registered full-time my sophomore year. It was the most challenging school I had attended thus far, but I fell in love with the content and quality of my courses and the caliber of my classmates and mentors. I was a bit too late in the game to graduate from Williamsburg Academy alone, but I wanted to remain a part of it. I also wanted to continue the success I was having in my college courses. We found the online charter school Sequoia Choice AZDL that allowed me to take both Williamsburg and college classes through them; I was thus enabled to complete two years of college and graduate high school.

The life lessons I have been taught while at Williamsburg Academy are so precious to me. The choice to attend here is counted among some of the most important decisions I have ever made. I've discovered how to make school something that enriches your life rather than something that is your life. I've learned about integrity and the importance of making and keeping commitments with yourself and with others. I've made some of the greatest friends I've ever had, and I've worked with mentors who have changed my life for the better. The environment of excellence in classes and strong character and academic drive of many of my classmates has in turn driven me to not only be the best student I can be but also my best self. I've been challenged to go first, to be a leader over many, and to give my 100%. I have been kicked out of my comfort zone time and time again. Over time, I've truly been becoming who I am. For the help and inspiration I have received in getting to the point I am at today, I cannot thank my Burgers enough.
